Description

Course Overview

Elastic Leadership™ developed and delivered by Dr. Mitch Javidi is a highly interactive one-day executive development program designed to help leaders understand the neurobiology of stress, performance, decision-making, and human behavior. Participants will explore the Fragility Curve™, learn how stress and pressure influence leadership effectiveness, and discover practical strategies to increase personal and organizational elasticity.

Drawing from contemporary neuroscience, human performance research, leadership theory, and data collected from thousands of public safety professionals, this program provides leaders with actionable tools to enhance performance, improve wellness, strengthen culture, reduce burnout, and build sustainable leadership capacity.

Participants will complete self-assessments, engage in facilitated discussions, examine real-world case studies, and develop personal action plans that can be immediately applied within their organization.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the Fragility Curve™ and recognize how stress, pressure, and adversity influence leadership effectiveness, performance, and decision-making.
  2. Assess their current level of Elastic Leadership™ and identify strengths and opportunities for growth.
  3. Recognize common leadership interferences, cognitive traps, and behavioral patterns that reduce effectiveness under pressure.
  4. Understand the difference between resilience and elasticity and learn why modern leadership requires adaptive growth rather than simple recovery.
  5. Examine the neurobiological foundations of stress, emotional regulation, attention, judgment, and performance.
  6. Identify the warning signs of burnout, emotional exhaustion, moral injury, disengagement, and organizational fragility.
  7. Learn practical strategies for strengthening emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and adaptive leadership capacity.
  8. Explore the Four Leadership Energies:
    • Drive – Purpose, motivation, and direction
    • Steady – Emotional regulation and composure
    • Connectivity – Relationships, trust, and influence
    • Clarity – Focus, judgment, and decision-making
  9. Develop strategies to improve morale, retention, wellness, resilience, organizational culture, and team performance.
  10. Create a personal leadership development plan designed to increase elasticity, adaptability, and long-term effectiveness.
